Breaking the Rules
Rules were made to be broken
3rd January, 2018
You've learnt the rules - Let's break them!
What is a Workshop? A Workshop is a focused style session where we concentrate on particular aspects of dance not normally covered during a weekly class. These include advanced and deeper concepts, movements, technique and more.
What can I expect from the Workshop? As the name suggests, we will be teaching you the so-called 'rules' and techniques of Swing, then we will break those rules to allow for improvisation, unique style and expression and loads of dance-floor fun!
If you want to improve your dancing in a fun, creative and safe space, our Workshops are exactly what you need!
What Should I Wear? You'll be Dancing. Lots. Gym wear is a great idea, with shoes you can comfortably dance in. Towel, water bottle and a change of clothes.
No Partner Required!
Rules were made to be broken! Join us for our BREAKING THE RULES Workshop!
Lindy Hop after all is an improvised social dance, in class we teach rules which help structure the dance but now lets break them!
Know which rules to break and when and how to break them. Can you effectively lead and follow when these rules are broken? Is there a bad time to break the rules? Where do you find the inspiration to break them. Are some rules unbreakable? These are some of the concepts we will be focusing on.
